In eigener Sache
Liebe Mitglieder der GAP,
wir möchten in eigener Sache noch einmal auf den siebenten PhilPublica
Workshop (25.-27. März 2026, Wien) aufmerksam machen. Der Workshop
findet dieses Mal zusammen mit dem FWF Exzellenzcluster „Knowledge in
Crisis" der Universität Wien statt. Lina Paulitsch (Der Falter) und Eva
Stanzl (Wiener Zeitung) erklären die Basics des journalistischen
Handwerkszeugs, analysieren mit den Teilnehmenden gemeinsam
Beispieltexte aus verschiedenen Medien und begleiten beim Verfassen
eines eigenen Kurz-Essays für die Zeitung.
Bewerben können sich Philosophie-Master-Studierende, Promovierende der
Philosophie, Philosophie-PostDocs und alle, deren
Philosophie-Master-Abschluss oder Promotion nicht länger als zwei Jahre
zurückliegt. Bewerbungsfrist ist der 4. Januar 2026. Die vollständige

The Chair of Logic and Philosophy of Language (held by Professor Hannes
Leitgeb) at LMU Munich, based in the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy
of Science and Religious Studies and the Munich Center for Mathematical
Philosophy, seeks to appoint at the earliest possible date two
postdoctoral positions, each for the duration of 3 years.
Your responsibilities:
* Independent and collaborative research in the thematic area of the
logic of reasons (logical/formal systems for the analysis of epistemic
or practical reasons, relationship between reasons and
doxastic/epistemic logic, deontic logic, hyperintensional logic,
conditional logic, non-monotonic logic, belief revision, ranking
functions, subjective probability, formal epistemology, formal action
theory, formal ethics, decision theory, philosophy of logic) and
dissemination of such research through publications and participation in
seminars, conferences, and workshops.
* Participation in other activities at the Chair (research,
administration, conference and workshop organisation, and, if desired,
teaching).
Your profile:
* Candidates should have successfully completed their university
studies with a doctoral degree in philosophy or a suitably related field
(e.g. in logic or computer science). The doctoral degree must have been
awarded by the beginning of the contract.
* Candidates should have a record of producing high-quality research,
as evidenced by publications and/or publishable writings of
international standard, commensurate with their career stage.
* Candidates should have a strong analytic, logical, and (depending on
their research area) mathematical orientation and aptitude.
* Candidates should be capable of engaging in teamwork.
* The primary language of the Chair, especially in research, is
English. Candidates should therefore be able to work in English, with
respect to both research and (if desired) teaching.
The Chair is part of the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy
(https://www.mcmp.philosophie.uni-muenchen.de [2]) at LMU Munich.
Conditions of employment:
The salary will be calculated according to group E 13 TVL-employment.
The positions are limited to three years. Successful applicants will
also have funds available to attend workshops and conferences.

The Chair of Logic and Philosophy of Language (held by Professor Hannes

two doctoral fellows (TV-L E13, 65% part-time), each for the duration of
3 years.
The two doctoral fellows will be part of a new project group that will
be devoted to the logic of epistemic reasons (reasons for beliefs) and
of practical reasons (reasons for actions). The project will deal with
questions, such as: How can we logically analyze the reason-for
relation? Which general laws does that relation obey? How can reasons
relate to each other logically? How does the logic of reasons relate to
other logical or formal systems?
Your responsibilities:
* Doctoral research in the thematic area of the logic of reasons
(logical/formal systems for the analysis of epistemic or practical
reasons, relationship between reasons and doxastic/epistemic logic,
deontic logic, hyperintensional logic, non-monotonic logic, conditional
logic, belief revision, ranking functions, subjective probability,
formal epistemology, formal action theory, formal ethics, decision
theory, philosophy of logic) and dissemination of such research through
publications and participation in seminars, conferences, and workshops.
The doctoral thesis should be written in English and will be supervised
by Professor Leitgeb.
* Participation in other activities at the Chair (research,
administration, conference and workshop organisation, and, if desired,
teaching).

* Candidates should have successfully completed a master program in
philosophy. The master degree must have been awarded by the beginning of
the contract.
* Candidates should have a strong analytic, logical, and (depending on
their research area) mathematical orientation and aptitude.
* Candidates should be capable of engaging in teamwork.
* Strong English language skills are required .
Conditions of employment:
The salary will be calculated according to group E 13 TVL-employment
(65%, part-time). The positions are limited to three years. Successful

'Liberty, Equality, and Utility: Assessing the trade-offs between
individual liberty, well-being, and material equality' funded by the
John Templeton Foundation and directed by Prof. Ralf Bader.
Project description: The research project will shed new light on the
conflicts between liberty and material equality, as well as between
individual well-being and material equality. It will do so by examining
the price of equality, assessing whether and in what ways it can be
traded off against liberty and well-being. By drawing on formal methods
and results from economics, especially from social choice theory and
decision theory, the project aims to identify the precise ways in which
individual freedom is incompatible with a commitment to material
equality and aims to develop dynamic models and calibration arguments
that examine the conflicts between material equality and well-being.
Salary:
Roughly CHF 70,000 per annum.

The LanCog Research Group [2], University of Lisbon, welcomes
expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates interested in
applying for 3-year research positions funded by the Fundação para a
Ciência e a Tecnologia [3] (FCT).
The FCT is the Portuguese national funding agency for academic research
and development. In 2026, the FCT will fund the hiring of 400
researchers, holders of PhDs at various stages of career, to carry out
their activity in research centres throughout Portugal. The selected
researchers are hired by the host institution through a contract between
the host and the FCT, which guarantees the funding. In the previous
edition, 18 positions have gone to philosophers, and LanCog has a very
strong record of supporting successful candidates.
The FCT will accept applications until January 29, 2026 (17:00 Lisbon
time). Candidates will apply online directly to the FCT, but their
application must be supported by a host institution.
The application, written in English, must include the following:
- A research plan, including a description of the main activities to be
undertaken, the expected results, as well as an indication of how the
research project fits with (at least one of) the goals set out in the
United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development [4];
- A brief description of previous academic and scientific experience,
highlighting the main activities and results obtained in the last 5
years;
- Curriculum vitae;
- A plan for the development of the candidate's career, including a
description of the main scientific goals and how this position would
contribute to their achievement;
- A brief description of the conditions provided by the host institution
and of how the proposed research plan fits into the overall strategy of
the research centre.
Applications will be assessed by an international panel, according to
the following two criteria:
- The candidate's CV;
- The proposed research plan.
The applicant is responsible for choosing the appropriate category in
which to apply (Junior: up to 5 years' experience, Assistant: open to
all applicants but is correspondingly far more competitive):
Junior researcher: PhD holders with up to 5 years of post-doctoral
experience in the scientific area of application - 2.351,53EUR gross
wage (c. 1785EUR/month net*);
Assistant researcher: PhD holders with relevant experience
(independently of its duration) in the scientific area of application -
3.501,28EUR gross wage (c. 2362EUR / month net*).
It is mandatory to upload the doctoral diploma. In order to comply with
the Portuguese legislation concerning the recognition of foreign
qualifications, all the doctoral degrees granted by foreign higher
education institutions must be duly recognized. Applicants are advised

Das philosophische Teilprojekt A02 analysiert reaktive Haltungen und
Emotionen der
Ungerechtigkeit in Bildungskontexten. Subjektiven Emotionen,
intersubjektive Praktiken und
institutionelle Normen in Bildungskontexten werden dabei systematisch
aus der Perspektive
von Emotionen der Ungerechtigkeit, Missachtung und Exklusion in den
Blick genommen.
Die Stelle verfolgt das Ziel, mit Teilen der Arbeitszeit ein
Qualifikationsvorhaben zu fördern.
Ihre Aufgaben

Promotionsprojekts
* Interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit theoretischen und empirischen

50 Years International Wittgenstein Symposium

50 years have passed since the First International Wittgenstein
Symposium - at that time it was called "Wittgenstein-Tage" - took place
at "Hotel Post" in Kirchberg am Wechsel in Lower Austria. From April 24
to 26 1976, Elisabeth Leinfellner, Werner Leinfellner, Rudolf Haller,
Paul Weingartner, and Adolf Hübner gave presentations on Wittgenstein.
Their topics ranged from biographical remarks on Wittgenstein to
philosophy of language, logic, and philosophy of mathematics. Still
today, 50 years later, the impact of Ludwig Wittgenstein across various
disciplines and beyond can hardly be overstated. Wittgenstein's life and
philosophy not only form the basis of the work of countless
philosophers; but they also influenced scholars in other scientific
disciplines and inspired artists to create new works.
Each year, the International Wittgenstein Symposium in Kirchberg am
Wechsel (Austria) is dedicated to a different subject, bringing
Wittgenstein and Wittgensteinian philosophy into dialogue with other
areas of philosophical inquiry. The 2026 Symposium, however, is to be
devoted to Ludwig Wittgenstein and his work in celebration of the 50th
anniversary of the IWS. We welcome contributions to any of the following

Call for Papers: Privatsphäre in digitalen Umgebungen
Der Schutz der Privatsphäre wird durch den zunehmenden Einsatz digitaler
Technologien und ihre Weiterentwicklung vor große Herausforderungen
gestellt. Big-Tech-Unternehmen wie Alphabet, Amazon oder Meta verfolgen
Geschäftsmodelle, die wesentlich auf der Erfassung und Verarbeitung
personenbezogener Daten beruhen. Diese Daten werden genutzt, um
Informationen über (potenzielle) Kund:innen zu erhalten und ihr
Verhalten beeinflussen zu können. Darüber hinaus verwenden staatliche
Behörden hochentwickelte Technologien der Datenintegration und -analyse
von Firmen wie Palantir oder Clearview AI, um ihre Sicherheitsinteressen
durchzusetzen und weitreichende Formen der digitalen Überwachung zu
etablieren.
Dabei wird die Privatsphäre zwar von vielen für wichtig und
schützenswert gehalten, während aber zugleich keine Einigkeit darüber
besteht, wie verschiedene Konzeptionen der Privatheit und ihres Werts zu
beurteilen sind, und nicht ausreichend reflektiert wird, inwiefern die
Privatsphäre angesichts neuer Technologien der Datenverarbeitung und
digitalen Überwachung besser geschützt werden sollte. Entsprechend ist
beispielsweise nicht klar, ob das Prinzip der informierten Einwilligung
dazu geeignet ist, im Umgang mit datenverarbeitenden Unternehmen einen
zufriedenstellenden Privatsphärenschutz zu gewährleisten. Dies lässt
sich unter anderem daran festmachen, dass verschiedene Personengruppen
aufgrund besonderer Vulnerabilitäten und ungleicher Kompetenzen
unterschiedlich gut dazu in der Lage sind, sich vor Verletzungen ihrer
Privatsphäre zu schützen.
Vor diesem Hintergrund lädt die _Zeitschrift für Praktische Philosophie_
dazu ein, philosophische Beiträge einzureichen, die sich etwa mit
folgenden Fragen auseinandersetzen:
* Welche Privatheitskonzeptionen oder Auffassungen zum Wert von
Privatheit erweisen sich angesichts neuer digitaler Technologien und
deren vielfältigem Einsatz als plausibel?
* Wie ist das sogenannte „Privacy Paradox" zu beurteilen, dem zufolge
Personen häufig behaupten, dass ihnen Privatsphäre wichtig sei, während
diese bei Entscheidungen zur Weitergabe persönlicher Daten keine große
Rolle zu spielen scheint?
* Wo liegen die Grenzen der informierten Einwilligung als Grundlage
für die Zulässigkeit der digitalen Erfassung und Verarbeitung
personenbezogener Daten?
* Soll der Privatsphärenschutz diversitätsgerecht gestaltet werden, so
dass die besonderen Bedürfnisse vulnerabler Gruppen ernst genommen
werden können?
* Inwiefern ist die Verarbeitung personenbezogener Daten mit Problemen
verbunden, die sich nur angehen lassen, wenn über das individuelle Recht
auf Privatsphäre hinausgedacht und etwa algorithmische Diskriminierung
oder Gruppenrechte einbezogen werden?
Die Einreichungsfrist für die Beiträge ist der 15.04.2026. Die
Veröffentlichung des Schwerpunkts ist für Winter 2026 geplant. Alle

Konferenz: European Congress for Metaphysics
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: INAUGURAL EUROPEAN CONGRESS FOR METAPHYSICS
Submission Deadline: 1 March 2026
We invite extended abstracts of up to 1000 words for presentation at the
first meeting of the European Congress for Metaphysics to be held 9-11
July 2026 in Munich, Germany. Abstracts are welcome in any area of
metaphysics, where this should be construed widely so as to include
topics in metaphysics of science, social metaphysics, history of
metaphysics, metametaphysics, metaphysics of mind, metaphysics of value,
and formal metaphysics. Abstracts may be submitted using the following
instructions.
PhD students and scholars within 10 years of their PhD are additionally
welcome to submit a 4000-5000 word paper on any topic in metaphysics for
consideration for the European Congress for Metaphysics Essay Prize.
Submissions for the Essay Prize should also include the extended
abstract of 1000 words. In addition to the Essay Prize, all paper
submissions from students and scholars within 10 years of their PhD will
be considered for travel grants of 800 Euro each, to defray travel
costs. 10 such grants will be awarded.
Abstracts and papers are particularly welcome from women, members of
other groups historically underrepresented in metaphysics, and early
career scholars, including PhD students.
This conference will include keynote presentations from Esa Díaz-León,
Jonathan Schaffer, and Barbara Vetter, as well as the recipient of the

To be considered for inclusion on the conference program, abstracts (and

* Abstracts should be no longer than 1000 words.

PhD-scholarships in Neurophilosophy
The Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) at LMU Munich
invites applications for several PhD scholarships in Neurophilosophy.
The GSN is the teaching entity for the Munich Center of Neurosciences -
Brain & Mind (MCN). Through creating an interdisciplinary network of
research the GSN provides a stimulating environment for students and
faculty to produce novel formulations of current concepts and theories.
Successful applicants will be affiliated with the Research Center for
Neurophilosophy and Ethics of Neurosciences

at the GSN.
Projects in the research center fall in the following areas:
* philosophy of cognitive neuroscience (explanation, reduction)
* philosophy and cognitive science of agency (mental causation, free
will, moral psychology, abilities)
* philosophy and cognitive science of reasoning (e.g. deductive and
non-deductive reasoning, logic and neural networks, decision making)
* ethics of neuroscience (research ethics, enhancement)
* philosophy of perception
* social and animal cognition
In the new application round we encourage applications in smaller focus
areas in order to build research groups. In the 2025/26 round the focus
areas are:
* human agency (esp. mental causation, complex action, multi-tasking,
attention, reductive and non-reductive explanation of agency)
* animal cognition
However, single exceptional and independent projects in one of the other
areas are also encouraged.
Applicants should have advanced training in philosophy (typically a
Master's degree in philosophy) and a genuine interest in the
neurosciences. This includes the willingness to acquire substantial
knowledge of empirical work relevant to their philosophical project.
Cooperative projects with empirical scientists in the network of the MCN
are strongly encouraged.

Workshop: Autonomy & Algorithms
As algorithms shape the choices we make, traditional assumptions about
autonomy and deliberation come under pressure. By curating what is
visible, relevant, or recommended, algorithmic outputs play a formative
role in human deliberation and action. These developments raise
well-known yet unresolved philosophical questions: What does it mean to
act and think autonomously in contexts mediated by algorithms? How do
algorithmic environments affect inquiry or deliberation? What are the
implications for democratic autonomy? Furthermore, how are we to assess
all this normatively?
This workshop aims to examine these issues within the frameworks of
philosophy of autonomy, ethics of AI, social epistemology, and political
philosophy. We welcome contributions that address conceptual
foundations, engage in normative evaluation, analyze epistemic dynamics
in algorithmic environments, and reflect on their institutional or
societal implications.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Conceptual analysis of autonomy under algorithmic influence
* Epistemic autonomy and algorithmic recommendation systems
* Responsibility gaps and distributed agency
* Algorithmic nudging, manipulation, and consent
* Autonomy in surveillance and data-intensive environments
We welcome submissions from analytic philosophy broadly construed
(ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, philosophy of
technology, epistemology, AI ethics), as well as adjacent disciplines
with strong philosophical engagement.We invite submissions from
researchers at all career levels, especially from early-career scholars
and doctoral candidates. Funding is available to cover travel and
accommodation costs for those whose abstract is accepted.

This workshop is aimed at discussing questions regarding the
relationship between prescriptive and hypological notions in the
normative, with a specific focus on conceptual issues regarding excuses
and exemptions. It is a familiar fact of life that agents can be
exculpated through a variety of factors, ranging from ignorance, over
duress, to permanent impairment of their rational facilities. Sometimes,
these various factors are taken to directly affect what an agent ought
to do, at other times, they are taken to constitute excuses for
(nonetheless wrong) actions. Contributions to this workshop will deal
with the question of how to best theoretically capture the various forms
of exculpation, combining perspectives from ethics, epistemology and
legal philosophy.
We have reserved a small number of slots for early-career researchers
(including advanced PhD students) working on related issues. These will
be selected from anonymized submissions based on quality and fit for the
workshop theme. We have secured funds to reimburse travel fees of up to
300EUR but unfortunately cannot cover accommodation costs (though we are
happy to suggest affordable options within proximity to the workshop
venue).
Potential topics of submissions include, but are not limited to:
* The difference between excuse and justification
* Full and partial excuses
* Varieties of exculpating conditions
* Epistemic excuses
* Excuses in the law and morality
* Exemptions and the "objective attitude"
* The role of blame and blameworthiness in relational theories of
morality
Please submit an abstract (700-1000 words, prepared for blind review)
until 31 January 2026 as a pdf file to philoeth(a)hu-berlin.de, with the
subject line "Submission for Workshop: Forms of Exculpation". Papers
should be suitable for a presentation lasting 30-40 minutes. Authors of
accepted papers will be notified by 10 February 2026. Submissions by

The workshop will discuss Iñigo González Ricoy's book manuscript "Labor
in the Boardroom: The Political Theory of Workplace Democracy".
Christian Neuhäuser (TU Dortmund), Philipp Stehr (TU Munich), and Eva
Weiler (University of Duisburg-Essen) will comment on González Ricoy's
manuscript, followed by responses from the author and an open debate
with the audience.
In recent years, labor-managed firms - whether through codetermination,
employee ownership, or worker cooperatives - have attracted growing
public and scholarly attention. Political theorists have offered
increasingly nuanced arguments for why such firms merit public support,
including limiting corporate power, encouraging civic participation,
reducing wage inequality, and countering managerial domination. Labor in
the Boardroom argues that many existing views are not fully persuasive,
while also reinforcing concerns that labor-managed firms may sacrifice
efficiency in pursuit of these and other values. This could lead to
economic outcomes that negatively affect not just investors but also
consumers, taxpayers, and workers. The book develops an alternative
normative account centered on efficiency as a key justification,
maintaining that we have reason to hold firms to an efficiency
requirement not only for economic reasons but also to protect workers
from domination by their employers. It contends that labor-managed firms
are uniquely positioned to reconcile efficiency with the value of
freedom from domination.

Am Internationalen Zentrum für Ethik in den Wissenschaften (IZEW) der
Universität Tübingen ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine
wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter:innenstelle (w/m/d) für ein
Forschungsprojekt im Bereich der interdisziplinären
Digitalisierungsforschung zu besetzen. Gefragt sind insbesondere
Qualifikationen im Bereich der qualitativen empirischen Sozialforschung
und Forschungsinteresse an Fragen der Ethik der Künstlichen Intelligenz,
der Demokratie, Privatheit und sexuellen Selbstbestimmung.
Realistisch wirkende Deepfakes sind inzwischen überaus einfach zu
erstellen. Besonders häufig wird die Technologie für
nicht-einvernehmliche sexualisierende Darstellungen von Frauen genutzt.
Dies verletzt deren Privatheit und sexuelle Selbstbestimmung. Immer
häufiger dienen Deepfakes auch kriminellen Zwecken wie Betrug oder
Erpressung sowie der Diffamierung der Abgebildeten, z.B. wenn sie
suggerieren, dass diese rassistische Äußerungen getätigt oder Straftaten
begangen haben.
Das Forschungsprojekt untersucht, inwiefern Bürger:innen bereits von
betrügerischen, sexualisierenden und diffamierenden Deepfakes betroffen
sind, wie wirksam bestehende Regulierung und weitere Maßnahmen sind und
wie Bürger:innen in Zukunft besser geschützt werden können. Dies
eröffnet Fragen nach Konflikten zwischen betroffenen Werten wie
Privatheit, Autonomie, psychischer und physischer Integrität und
sexueller Selbstbestimmung, nach möglicher (intersektioneller)
Diskriminierung, nach gesellschaftlicher Inklusion und politischer
Teilhabe sowie den Auswirkungen von Deepfakes auf die Demokratie.
Ihre Aufgabe als wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter:in des Projekts ist die
Aufarbeitung des Forschungsfelds, die Durchführung und Auswertung von
Expert:innen- sowie Betroffeneninterviews, die Reflexion der gewonnenen
Erkenntnisse in Hinblick auf die oben genannten Fragestellungen sowie
der interdisziplinäre Austausch u.a. mit Rechtswissenschaftler:innen.
Die Themenstellung eignet sich gut für die Anfertigung einer
Doktorarbeit im Untersuchungsfeld, steht aber auch für Postdocs offen.
Das Projekt ist eingebettet in ein lebendiges interdisziplinäres
Forschungsumfeld zu KI- und Medienethik (Forschungsgruppe Prof. Dr.
Jessica Heesen).
Von den Bewerber:innen wird ein abgeschlossenes Masterstudium der
Philosophie, Politikwissenschaft, Soziologie, Kommunikations- und
Medienwissenschaft, Gender Studies, Psychologie, Theologie oder einem
anderen sozial- oder geisteswissenschaftlichen Fach erwartet. Der/die

Am Philosophischen Seminar der Universität Mannheim ist zum
nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine befristete Juniorprofessur (W1) für
Politische Philosophie (m/w/d) für eine Dauer von zunächst drei Jahren
zu besetzen. Nach positiver Evaluation ist eine Verlängerung um weitere
drei Jahre möglich.
Neben einer durch Schriften ausgewiesenen Qualifikation in der
Politischen Philosophie ist ein Schwerpunkt in der Philosophie der
Ökonomie und/oder einem anderen Bereich der praktischen Philosophie
erwünscht. Die Lehr- und Prüfungsverpflichtung erstreckt sich auf die
Studiengänge B.A. und M.A. Kultur und Wirtschaft: Philosophie sowie
B.Ed. und M.Ed. Philosophie/Ethik. Erwartet wird, dass sich der
Stelleninhaber/die Stelleninhaberin an der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
beteiligt. Er/sie soll außerdem zur Mitarbeit in den Mannheimer
Forschungsprojekten bereit sein und insbesondere zur Vernetzung mit den
Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften beitragen.

We invite submission for papers on any aspect of the metaphysics of
science, broadly construed. Whilst we are pleased to see the sustained
interest in the metaphysics of physics within the SMS, we are committed
to foster a plurality of views and topics. In the light of this we
particularly encourage submissions in subfields such as, e.g.,
philosophy of biology, philosophy of chemistry, philosophy of cognitive
science and neurosciences, philosophy of the social sciences to mention
a few. Submissions on general topics in the metaphysics of science
(nature of theories, laws, causation, metaphysical and scientific
explanation, mechanicism, to mention a few representative examples) are
also welcome.
Submissions should be full papers in PDF format, of no more than 4,000
words (excluding references and footnotes), and should include an
abstract of 150-250 words and a word count. All papers must employ
gender-neutral language and be prepared for anonymous review.
Paper presentations will be 30 minutes, followed by: 10 minutes for a
commentator, 5 minutes for the speaker's reply, and 15 minutes for Q&A.

the topic addressed in their work. The Scientific Committee will do its
best to place contributions in the most suitable session block. Feel

We invite submissions in any of the following two types:
_Contributed Papers _
We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 150 words) and an
extended abstract (800-1000 words excl. title and references) through
our submission system (Easychair) by 31 January 2026. To submit, please
prepare your abstracts for blind review, and save your extended abstract
as a PDF file. Then follow the link to our submission system. (Please
note that first-time users must register as users of EasyChair.) The
total time allocated to each contributed paper at the conference will be
35 minutes, of which max. 20 minutes will be for presenting the paper
and the rest will be for Q&A.
_Symposia_
We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 150 words) and a
full proposal through our submission system by 31 January 2026. The
proposed symposium/panel discussion can have any format, but they must
include at least 3 and at most 5 speakers. The total time allocated to
each symposium is 115 minutes, of which max. 70 minutes will be for
talks and the rest will be for Q&A.
The full proposal should include (a) the title of the proposed
symposium, (b) the contact details of the organizer(s) (who may or may
not be a proposed speaker), (c) the names of all speakers along with a
link to their website/philpeople page (or a short CV (max. 1 page)), (d)
a general description of the topic and its significance (800-1000 words,
excl. title and references), (e) titles plus a brief description (max.
150 words) of each speaker's talk. All parts of the proposal should be
compiled into one PDF file.
