[Vdp] New VDP Statutes

Dear VDP Faculty and PhD Researchers, I am pleased to share the new statutes of our doctoral school with you. These statutes have been unanimously approved by our steering committee and confirmed by our rectorate. They replace the former constitution, which specified our governance structure. The document defines the following: 1. the types of memberships of the VDP and how the school is organised; 2. how the VDP is governed and the tasks of the governing bodies; 3. election procedures; 4. membership and membership termination conditions; 5. a procedure for recruiting external supervisors. These statutes will be published on the new VDP website, which, as you know, is under construction. They should help to ensure an efficient government transition, future government onboarding, and recruitment of external supervisors. Lastly, I would like to thank in particular our Vice-Director, Prof. Arne Moritz, for his work in this document, which is a legacy of his time as interim Director (March–September 2025).
