Dear VDP Members, The rectorate has prepared a document titled "Key Principles of Good Doctoral Supervision," which has been endorsed by our doctoral school. Our director has distributed this document to all our supervisors. Professor Martin Kusch was one of the contributors to this document. On behalf of the doctoral school community, I would like to thank him for his efforts. You will find the document attached to this email. Please read the document and reflect on your own supervision. It is essential for the VDP that all our researchers receive proper supervision in terms of time and quality. Please feel encouraged to contact the VDP office to discuss any concerns regarding your supervision. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the following: VDP members are expected to pass their faculty presentation within the first year and sign their doctoral thesis agreement soon after. After the doctoral thesis agreement has been signed for one year, you must submit annual reports to make amends to the agreement (if needed) and report on your progress. Timely submission of these documents is crucial (their submission is needed for graduating). For this reason, we freeze funds for students while these documents are pending. If you are delayed in submitting these documents, please correct this as soon as possible. Remember the documents have to be submitted to the SSC Service Desk, select Doktorat.
